Outdoor Quilt Show a la (baby) Sisters

Having never been to Sisters, Oregon I can hardly make a comparison.  However, this quaint little area is the city’s “old town” and annually hosts an outdoor quilt show.  It’s always the first Saturday in October which is near my birthday.  So, for me, it’s a treat to indulge in my passion in yet another way.

As much as I love the exquisite craftsmanship that can be found at the big quilt shows, there is something sweet about being in the presence of quilts made by local artists.  I’m certainly not saying that there weren’t some quilts that I can only dream of trying to replicate.  However, those showpieces were mixed with those that were made by “ordinary folk” like me – women (and maybe men) who genuinely just love the art of quilting and do it for that sole purpose, not necessarily to enter any contests.

I was so busy enjoying myself that I kept forgetting to take photos.  Here’s just a couple that were taken that day.

Oh I love the bottom one! Almost like a spiral of chocolate chip cookies! I love quilts too. I love to be under them in the winter 🙂 I admire the work so much. Thanks for sharing.
